Role Overview
Upright Education is experiencing rapid growth, and we are now in search of a Director of Marketing to lead the expansion of our marketing department. This role is crucial as it requires a seasoned professional who can execute our existing marketing initiatives while also envisioning and building the future of our marketing team. Much of our marketing strategy relies on paid media, making it essential for the Director of Marketing to have a strong background in performance marketing. Additionally, they should possess a deep understanding of demand generation, brand building, product marketing, market analysis, and strategy in alignment with our unique initiatives.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy in line with Upright's goals and objectives.
- Lead and inspire a growing marketing team, fostering collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends to ensure Upright's marketing remains cutting-edge.
Performance Marketing:
- Manage all paid advertising campaigns, optimizing for ROI and lead generation.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and continuously improve campaign performance.
- Monitor and manage budgets effectively to maximize results.
Demand Generation:
- Implement demand generation programs to attract prospective adult learners to Upright's bootcamps.
- Develop and nurture leads through the marketing funnel, working closely with sales teams.
- Collaborate with college partners to leverage their networks and resources for demand-generation efforts.
Product Marketing and Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Lead product marketing efforts to effectively position Upright's bootcamps in the market.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new programs and initiatives, ensuring successful launches.
- Create compelling product messaging and collateral to drive adoption and engagement.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
- Define market segmentation and targeting strategies to maximize marketing effectiveness.
- Develop long-term marketing strategies that align with market dynamics and company objectives.
Brand Building:
- Oversee the creation and management of bootcamp-specific social media channels, content, and messaging.
- Ensure brand consistency across all marketing materials and initiatives.
- Establish and maintain Upright's reputation as a leader in education innovation.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Define Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework that aligns with the company's marketing and revenue objectives.
- Ensure that KPIs are specific, measurable, and relevant to different marketing channels and campaigns.
- Collect and integrate data from various sources, including web analytics, CRM systems, and marketing automation platforms.
- Lead A/B testing and experimentation efforts to optimize marketing campaigns, landing pages, and messaging.
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards that provide real-time visibility into marketing metrics and KPIs.
- Develop forecasting models to predict future marketing performance and revenue outcomes.
Team Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and develop marketing team members to build a high-performing department.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability within the marketing team.
- Identify opportunities for team growth and skill development.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, with a strong background in performance marketing.
- Strong knowledge of the bootcamp market or similar.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth through performance marketing and lead generation in the online bootcamp or related industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
- Experience in demand generation and lead nurturing.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Innovative and strategic mindset with a passion for staying ahead of industry trends.
- Results-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Location
Hybrid Work Environment: Tuesday-Thursday in LES Manhattan office; Monday and Friday remote, work from home.
