Overview

Team Purpose:

The Immigration function within Global Mobility is accountable for the end-to-end global immigration program and its associated risks, including program strategy, day-to-day operations, and compliance. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and governance forums to navigate Microsoft’s enterprise structure, ensure alignment with business needs, and maintain strong controls across jurisdictions. The function applies deep immigration expertise while leveraging working knowledge of broader mobility considerations that impact employee movement.

Job Purpose:

As a Regional Immigration Lead, you support day-to-day delivery of the global immigration program across assigned regions (Europe) and help shape regional strategy, ensuring effective processes, risk management, and compliance. You help implement and embed standard processes, analyze regional reporting to drive improvements to compliance, operational performance, and partner with EY to provide end-to-end performance visibility and regional insight on service delivery and out-of-scope approvals.

Responsibilities
  • Support Global Immigration Leader with day-to-day management of the global immigration program, including escalation management, out-of-scope approvals, operations support and vendor management.
  • Drive regional immigration strategy and lead change initiatives to improve program outcomes, adoption, and compliance across the region.
  • Ensure processes are in place to manage risk and compliance within the assigned region
  • Provide input and support in the development and implementation of immigration processes and verify adoption and compliance within the assigned region.
  • Analyze regional immigration reports to identify trends, root causes and recommend action plans for improved immigration program compliance, operations performance and cost efficiency.
  • Provide input on change and communications and execute on applicable regional communications and change management activities as they develop (e.g., update communication materials and circulate, determine needs for additional new hires etc.)
  • Track and report on in-house immigration activities and work with Global Immigration provider to get end-to-end view of immigration program compliance, performance and cost.


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in a Human Resources role with a focus on immigration and compliance.
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Immigration law, Business, Social Sciences, or related field.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of, or experience with European immigration law
