Overview

The Xbox team is looking for a regional Communications Lead for Xbox in APAC.

As part of the Microsoft Global Communications team, you will join a group of professionals focused on telling the stories that help people fall in love with Xbox games, Xbox services & devices, and the positive impact Xbox gaming will have in the world. You will report to the Head of Xbox Global Communications, be an integral part of the Xbox global comms team and be a trusted advisor to local and global teams.

This is a role for a communications leader who can blend cultural fluency, strategic rigor, and creative instinct to shape how Xbox shows up across some of the most influential gaming markets in the world. Xbox is entering its next chapter of global growth — and APAC will help define it.

As the APAC Communications Lead for Xbox, you will set and own the strategic communications direction for the region (including but not limited to Japan, China, Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand), leading a highly distributed team and agency ecosystem across some of Xbox’s most culturally complex and fast‑growing markets. You will translate global Xbox priorities across content, platform, ecosystem, trust and safety, brand and reputation and consumer into integrated, market‑led communications strategies that drive brand relevance, trust, and player growth at scale.

From Tokyo to Seoul, Shanghai to Singapore, Sydney to Southeast Asia, this role requires sharp instincts for where global narratives need to flex — and when local stories should lead.

This role operates as a senior regional leader — shaping strategy, setting priorities, and acting as a trusted advisor to Xbox, Gaming, and Microsoft leadership. You will build durable operating models, coach high‑performing leaders, and deliver culturally resonant storytelling that ladders local nuance to global ambition.

This position will give you the opportunity to thrive in a challenging, creative environment, and grow with a strong and supportive team who are committed to excellence at every level.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative but self-motivated leader with a proven track record of developing best in class communications strategies and executions that append to a global comms strategy and a larger regional business plan. The role requires very strong communication and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to directly lead, manage and coach a large team. You must thrive on high pressure deadlines and be able to consistently achieve results on time and within budget. Industry experience is highly desirable coupled with an intricate knowledge of the nuances across the APAC region with emphasis on how to leverage social channel platforms across the region.

The role is based in Singapore and is also a part of the regional extended Microsoft Communications team.
