We are looking for a Director Level Technical Program Manager who will sit at the intersection of engineering, risk and strategy with deep cross domain fluency, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to lead large teams for complex, ambiguous, high stakes deals at speed.

As the Director, MAVS Technology & Product, you will:

* Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Microsoft’s Senior Business and Engineering executives, enabling inorganic growth at speed and at scale.

* Lead large cross functional, matrixed teams across engineering, fianance, legal, security, compliance, and external partners.

* Operationalize AI first, repeatable processes that accelerate value realization and improve decision quality.

* Translate technical diligence into actionable integration strategies and executive ready insights.

* Shape how Microsoft evaluates, acquires, integrates, licenses, and scales external technologies in a rapidly evolving AI driven market.

MAVS Technology & Product (MAVS Tech) is the Engineering arm of Microsoft’s Acquisition & Venture Success organization (MAVS), responsible for enabling and protecting Microsoft’s strategic growth across acquisitions, divestitures, and data/IP transactions.



Responsibilities

* Lead Technical Due Diligence : Drive end to end technical, product, and IP due diligence across software, hardware, AI/ML, security, privacy, compliance, and open source. Apply AI enabled tools and standardized frameworks to deliver earlier, deeper insights with speed and consistency. Define clear technical risks and remediation requirements pre and post close.

* Orchestrate Cross Functional and External Teams : Mobilize and lead cross company virtual teams across engineering, Finance, CELA, MS Security, CorpDev, 1ES, and external technical experts. Establish clarity of scope, timelines, ownership, and decision hygiene across all stakeholders. Strengthen MAVS Tech’s operating model through predictable and repeatable engagement patterns.

* Assess Technical Risk and Business Impact : Evaluate how technical findings influence deal value, integration feasibility, timelines, and cost. Provide executives with crisp, actionable guidance that connects risk to economic and strategic outcomes. Recommend mitigations that balance speed, quality, and compliance.

* Develop Integration or Separation Plans : Translate business rationale, technical findings, and product goals into clear integration or separation plans. Align engineering systems, cloud migration needs, data flows, product roadmaps, and compliance requirements to accelerate value realization. Use early AI driven insights to inform sequencing and execution strategy.

* Resolve Issues and Deliver Executive Ready Reporting : Convert complex technical signals into concise, decision ready narratives for senior leaders. Drive issue resolution across teams, track commitments, and maintain high quality communication throughout the deal lifecycle. Ensure consistent updates and alignment across business, engineering, and legal stakeholders.

* Enable Seamless Technical Integration Execution : Coordinate secure transfer of source code, data, environments, documentation, and tooling to receiving engineering teams. Support engineering onboarding to accelerate the team’s time to productivity. Partner with MS Security and CELA to validate post close security posture and compliance readiness.

* Build Knowledge, Playbooks, and Best Practices : Capture lessons learned to strengthen MAVS Tech playbooks, paved paths, and integration frameworks. Standardize templates, tools, and knowledge artifacts to reduce reinvention across deals. Scale organizational capability by improving repeatability, visibility, and planning readiness

* Drive Innovation and AI Enabled Transformation : Champion AI first workflows that automate diligence, improve decision quality, and reduce cycle time. Partner to design and operationalize AI agents, dashboards, and risk models that modernize MAVS Tech execution. Continuously assess emerging technologies to keep MAVS Tech ahead of the market.



Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree AND 6+ years in engineering, technical program management, product development, or equivalent experience.

* 3+ years leading complex, cross functional technical programs with executive-level visibility

Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

* Experience in M&A technical due diligence, integration planning, or related transactions(acquisitions, divestitures, IP licensing, data deals).

* Broad technical fluency across software, hardware, AI/ML, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, open source, privacy, Responsible AI, and compliance.

* Understanding of Microsoft’s engineering systems, SDLC, security requirements, and product development practices.

* Proven ability to create and scale repeatable processes, frameworks, or AI enabled tools.

*Proficient communication and influencing skills across engineering, business, legal, and security stakeholders.

*Demonstrated ability to synthesize technical depth into executive ready insights and decision frameworks.

* Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, and make sound technical judgments in high stakes environments.



Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
