Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end lab support of the SCHIE engineering teams for a major site and across the globe.
Execute lab alignment, planning, and strategizing to support the success of SCHIE programs.
Drive lab process improvements & activities such as lab builds, procurement, inventory, safety, security, audits, etc.
Manage lab work scope, schedule/risks, budget, vendors/suppliers, etc.
Partner with engineering, management, finance, and other support teams.
Coordinate with other Lab TPMs across multiple SCHIE locations.
Collaborate with other organizations across Microsoft for lab alignment and lab resources sharing.
Ensure proper communication and adequate lab documentation.
Drive roadmap-to-lab capacity planning (space, power/cooling, network ports, racks/benches, tooling, and support coverage) to ensure program readiness.
Own AI/compute rack readiness for lab deployments (rack integration, power distribution, cabling/optics, network bring-up, and burn-in scheduling) in support of key program milestones.
Lead new lab site standup and expansion efforts including build plan, move/cutover planning, go/no-go readiness criteria, and early life support stabilization.
Drive platform refresh and transition planning across lab environments (coexistence strategy, migration waves, tooling/firmware baselines, and asset disposition) to minimize disruption to engineering execution.
Manage lab constraints and tradeoffs across competing programs by running regular priority, dependency, and blocker reviews with clear escalation paths.
Own long-lead procurement strategy and tracking for critical lab equipment and infrastructure (compute, network, power, and specialty tools) including alternates, expediting, and vendor performance management.
Coordinate cross-site lab resource sharing and standardization across SCHIE locations (processes, rack templates, inventory taxonomy, and runbooks) to enable geo expansion and consistent execution.
Strengthen lab governance and audit readiness by implementing compliance-by-design processes (access reviews, asset controls, documentation/evidence collection) aligned to Microsoft and customer requirements.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, OR related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience OR
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience
6 years of program management experience
6 years of managing cross-functional work with diverse teams
Demonstrated track record of leadership skills
Working experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
Working knowledge of network equipment, peripherals, and Artificial Intelligence & Compute hardware
Ability to engage in dynamic work environment
Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Organizational and documentation skills with attention to details
Collaborative, flexible, self-motivated, problem-solver
Experience in analytics/metrics reporting
MS Office skills: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
Hardware Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
