Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.

The Spares, Sourcing, Supply & Distribution organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of hardware for data centers, and the relationship with the manufacturers and warrantors of these parts. The team ensures and executes a well-defined sourcing and supply chain management plan, works to optimize cost, manages warranty entitlements, helps mitigate supply shortages, and provides accurate and timely information across the Azure Hardware Infrastructure organization. We are looking for a passionate, high energy supply chain professional to help fundamentally transform and optimize how we manage our spares supply chain.

The role of the Warranty Sourcing Program Manager provides thought leadership within CSCP, while working with key business units across Microsoft. The candidate will be part of a hand-picked team of internal consultants with high visibility within the CSCP executive leadership team. Work is typically organized around assets deployed across Sourcing, Planning, Datacenter Operations and Logistics to deliver advantaged economics, industry-leading innovation and quality.

Responsibilities

• Collect, synthesize, and communicate analysis and insights to drive strategy and decision-making for senior leadership.

• Prioritize deliverables across multiple initiatives running in parallel.

• Lead key strategic initiatives for the organization along with a cross-functional team

• Work with senior leaders across the organization to shape and drive strategic agendas.

• Benchmark industry practices, bring outside-in perspectives to develop best practices within the Microsoft Cloud Supply Chain

• Build category strategies and support project teams in business requirements development to ensure all stakeholders are in alignment with financial goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers on enabling forecast collaboration with suppliers, analyzing parts supportability and warranty risk

• Manage piece part, asset and supplier related data, provide data driven analytical insights to drive tool/process enhancements.

• Support Sourcing managers on supplier engagement and onboarding onto key strategic initiatives while tracking and maintaining key data elements to support Sourcing and Procurement Operations.



Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain processes (e.g., planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and working across functions to deliver program outcomes.
  • Strong analytics capability, with demonstrable experience working in Excel, PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Distinctive problem-solving, leadership and analytical thinking experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, or Logistics within the tech industry.
  • 2+ years experience supporting or driving strategic projects with cross functional teams / supporting transformative programs in a high tech company context
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a growing, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build lasting relationships across multiple layers in the organization
  • Experience building SQL queries and working in Access DB
  • Familiar with business tools (e.g. word, excel modeling, power point slides) and able to generate quality outputs
  • Strong leadership skills and an ownership mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication



Supply Chain Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
