Responsibilities
Investor Relations Support
- Serve as a communications partner to the Investor Relations team, supporting quarterly earnings cycles end-to-end, including press releases, talking points, Q&A preparation, and post-earnings messaging.
- Draft and refine shareholder communications, and business press-facing narratives that reflect Microsoft's financial performance and long-term strategy.
- Collaborate with IR and Finance leadership to develop consistent messaging frameworks for use across earnings calls, investor conferences, and roadshows.
- Translate complex financial data and business results into clear, accessible language for a variety of audiences, from institutional investors to employees.
Financial Communications
- Partner with the broader Communications team to ensure financial messaging is integrated and consistent across internal and external channels.
- Support the Finance team with external communications by crafting compelling stories that highlight the company’s forward-thinking approach in financial strategy and operations.
- Support communications on other corporate issues including tax, treasury, and procurement.
Strategic Storytelling
- Develop proactive communications strategies that advance Microsoft's financial narrative and support business priorities.
- Monitor financial media coverage, analyst sentiment, and competitor communications to identify opportunities and inform messaging strategy.
- Contribute to long-form content, including annual reports, shareholder letters, and other high-profile financial communications vehicles.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Build strong working relationships with Finance, Legal, Corporate Development, and other internal stakeholders to support a wide range of financial communications needs.
- Provide communications counsel to finance leaders on message development, channel strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage agency partners and external vendors as needed to deliver high-quality work at scale.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in communications, with demonstrated expertise in financial communications, investor relations communications, or business/financial journalism.
Communications IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
