Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.

Cloud Supply Chain Global Operations (CSGO) organization within CSCP manages business operations performance and supplies hardware to the datacenters. Well-defined and executed supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Responsibilities
  • Own end‑to‑end Pre‑Dock execution for assigned deployments, ensuring all readiness activities (materials, provisioning, cabling, configuration, data readiness) are completed prior to rack arrival to meet CTD and SLA commitments.
  • Serve as the single‑threaded owner for Pre‑Dock outcomes, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and blockers, and driving mitigation across CSCP, CMOF, DC Ops, Engineering, and regional deployment teams.
  • Drive predictable cycle‑time performance, leveraging prioritization signals and operational data to sequence work based on business impact, deployment criticality, and capacity constraints.
  • Deliver actionable insights and executive‑ready reporting on Pre‑Dock health, CTD performance, SLA attainment, and escapes—translating complex operational data into clear narratives for leadership and partners.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce Pre‑Dock cycle time and variability through process standardization, automation, tooling enhancements, and elimination of manual handoffs.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cloud infrastructure, data center deployment, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or readiness engineering environments, preferably supporting large‑scale, global deployments.
  • Demonstrated success owning complex, cross‑functional execution efforts with multiple dependencies across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience using data to prioritize work, identify risks, and drive operational decisions (e.g., cycle time, SLA, readiness metrics).
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives, including standardization, automation, or tooling enhancements that improve reliability, predictability, or efficiency.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and influence without authority, translating complex operational issues into concise, actionable insights for leadership and partner teams.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with shifting priorities while maintaining accountability for outcomes.

Technical Solution Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
