We are looking for an AI Creative Director to help define the future of AI-generated storytelling. In this role, you will set the creative vision and quality standards for generative video systems used across Clipchamp and M365 Copilot experiences. Your work will shape how AI-generated videos look, feel, sound and communicate ideas through compelling narratives.

You will work at the intersection of creative direction, AI systems design and product development, partnering with Applied Scientists, Engineers, Designers, Product Managers and Researchers to shape how generative video models produce high-quality outputs at scale.

This role requires both creative leadership and systems thinking—translating artistic judgment into scalable frameworks that guide AI-generated video outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Define the creative direction and craft standards for AI-generated videos consumed by millions, maintaining and evolving a high bar for design quality.
  • Establish frameworks for visual storytelling, cinematic language, pacing and narrative clarity that translate creative intent into repeatable systems that models and product teams can apply.
  • Lead reviews of genAI video outputs to ensure a high bar of visual storytelling, narrative clarity and cinematic craft.
  • Collaborate with your team to design scalable systems that enable generative video quality at scale, including exemplar video libraries, gold-standard datasets, creative style guides for AI outputs and evaluation frameworks.
  • Work closely with Applied Scientists and Content Engineers to ensure creative direction is reflected in model behaviour and evaluation frameworks, improving output quality over time.
  • Help product teams develop strong literacy in visual storytelling, composition, motion, editing rhythm and cinematic language.
  • Lead experimentation with emerging generative video technologies and models to push the boundaries of how AI can support expressive, engaging video communication.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
    • OR equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design.
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design.
    • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).
  • 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
  • Experience as a seasoned creative leader (Art Director, Creative Director, Design Lead, Creative Technologist or similar) with a strong foundation in design fundamentals including composition, typography, color theory, hierarchy, audio, motion and storytelling.
  • A portfolio demonstrating excellence across visual storytelling, art direction, graphic design, product design, illustration, cinematography, motion design or related domains.
  • Experience working with generative media tools and AI-generated workflows, with the ability to translate creative vision into systems, frameworks and scalable design principles.
  • Proven ability to influence product ecosystems and drive alignment around a shared creative vision while working cross-functionally across design, engineering, research and product teams.
