The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Security and Sustainability (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Responsibilities
• Sourcing management and strategies
• Early engage with cross functional leadership including product design, quality, business teams to determine sourcing requirements for system integrators
• Foster the partnership with engineering & business partners to identify/influence design and technology selection
• Develop sourcing strategies for PCBA/ME/EE categories to ensure advantaged cost and sufficient continuity of supply
• Define RFQ / RFP activities and direct structural sourcing team to conduct negotiations with suppliers
• Manage contracting activities with Legal and ensure contract reflect MSFT’s cross functional engagements with suppliers
• Serve as the escalation point for component supply and/or supplier issues
• Cost and operations management • Set up savings targets for the categories managed and drive sourcing managers to deliver the result
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive supplier competition with cost modelling and other sourcing tools.
• Run weekly, monthly, quarter review with team on cost and operations KPIs
• Manage ad-hoc cost issues e.g. tariffs / import export cost, cost inflation
• Support cost and supply chain operations needs relevant to system integrators e.g. invoice, PO, inventory requirements
• Continuous improvement of operations processes
• Manage supplier performance and compliance
• Develop and enable new suppliers
• MSFT’s central point of contact of supplier relationship in assigned categories
• Ensure supplier compliant with MSFT requirements (E.g. security, social responsibility, payment terms)
• Conduct business review discussions
• Ensure supplier deliver corrective actions on time from business review / audits
• Support CSSC teams to drive suppliers toward their operational and cost metrics
• Lead site development Taiwan CoE includes determining site future strategy, talent management, and cultural development
• Develop and manage talent based on Microsoft HR policies
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
• Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 10+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
• 15+ years experiences in procurement, supply chain, operations areas
• 10+ year working experience in sourcing and supplier management in PCBA, EE, ME and/or thermal categories • Extensive experience in leading cross functional teams
