Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Business Administrator to provide operational, logistical, and organizational support to senior leaders and teams within our Analytics organization.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, thrives in a fast moving technical environment, exercises sound judgment, and builds strong, collaborative relationships. This role serves as a trusted operational partner, helping leaders and teams stay focused, aligned, and effective.
This position is based at the Redmond campus with an expectation of 5 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities
Calendar Management and Meeting Logistics
• Provides complex calendar management and time planning support for leader(s)
• Manages community space/conference room calendars
• Aligns calendar based on knowledge of leader's preference and operating styles
• Ensures preparation of meeting setting
• Learns to manage ambiguous situations and develop deep understanding of leader's priorities and business critical areas.
Rythm of Business (ROB)
• Develops understanding of rhythm of business (ROB), key stakeholders, and interdependencies within the business and recognizes patterns.
• Helps to execute business cadence (scheduling/meeting logistics) around the ROB of the team and identifies patterns and key stakeholders.
Resource and Travel Management
• Contributes to and oversees planning, tracking, maintenance, and adjustment of equipment and inventory based on stock requirements and business needs.
• Processes expense reports with full compliance of Microsoft policy. Participates in discretionary budget tracking (e.g., morale, hardware, supplies) and reporting.
• Performs vendor and supplier management (e.g., ensuring set up for financial processing, opening purchase orders [POs]).
• Contribute to budget management in partnership with peers (e.g., Finance, Business Managers).
• Space management and planning in alignment with Executive Office and other peer teams.
• Provides travel arrangements using Microsoft tools (e.g., accommodations, transportation, security, group codes) for manager(s) and/or group.
• Create itineraries for daily activities and learn to maximize trip itineraries.
• Follows travel policies and leverages guidance from senior Business Support colleagues as necessary.
Team Management Support
• Collaborates with Global Talent Acquisition (GTA) to support internal and external recruitment efforts, and partners with hiring managers to ensure a smooth process, under guidance of senior colleagues as needed.
• Coordinates logistics and provides onboarding support for new employees, vendors, and interns, under the direction of senior team members.
• Maintains and manages headcount activities, including staff movement/transfers, reporting, offboarding, and transactions within relevant headcount management tools.
• Contributes to team experience activities.
Project Ownership
• Executes various projects and tasks and completes project deliverables with little or no supervision.
• Owns their components of project outcomes end to end with proper accountability.
• Streamlines processes, provides process improvement suggestions, and adjusts as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years Administrative, Business Support, and/or customer service experience.
Job Requirements: Other & Additional
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
• 3+ years Administrative, Business Support, or customer service experience in an environment with an emphasis on scheduling meetings/events, travel management, and basic administrative work.
• Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Relevant Field OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ year(s) experience reviewing and managing administrative budgets (ie: for events, morale, travel, training)
• Familiarity with Office Suite, Employee Central, Procure Web, MyExpense and Cytric Travel

Business Support ATR-C - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $25.10 - $43.80 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $35.72 - $51.11 per hour.
