The Core Search and AI team is the leading applied machine learning team at Microsoft AI responsible for delivering the highest-quality search experience to search and AI users around the world in Microsoft’s Search engine and other dependent search and AI engines. We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to understand unmet customer needs and cross reference them with the latest AI trends to improve the next generation of search using advanced AI technologies at scale.
As the product manager, you would leverage AI to identify customer needs and market opportunities. Collaborates on user research and competitive analyses. Works with others to ensure alignment with product and customer goals. Starts owning a feature and creates drafts to support product vision and strategy, and utilizes AI in content development. Defines and tracks performance metrics, engages in community management, and advocates for features alongside marketing. Partners on roadmap prioritization and adapts strategies. Shares feature previews with customers for feedback and prioritizes product strategies and launches while maintaining security standards.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
- Understand user needs and gaps through opportunity analysis, applying customer empathy to design differentiated platform solutions.
- Define product vision, goals, and success metrics, and develop a clear strategy and value proposition while evangelizing impact with partners.
- Own TechHub platform product and project management, including roadmap, prioritization, dependencies, and cross-team execution.
- Drive delivery agility and operational excellence to improve development velocity, predictability, and capacity efficiency.
- Lead resource, capacity, and investment management to optimize budget and infrastructure utilization.
- Define MVP release criteria and drive build–measure–learn iteration with engineering and science teams.
- Leverage large-scale data, crowd-sourced feedback, and A/B experimentation to inform decisions and continuously improve outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
- 2+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
