We are looking for a transformational Sr. Finance Directorr for the Americas Small Medium Enterprise & Channel (SME&C) finance team. This is a great opportunity to become a trusted advisor to the Americas SME&C sales leadership team and gain exposure to multiple leadership teams across Americas & WorldWide SME&C Finance. This role owns financial leadership across the Americas SME&C business, partnering closely across Corporate and SMB customer segments as well as with Partner Channel sales leadership to drive growth, execution, and transformation. The role is accountable for financial rhythm of the business (ROB), planning, insights, and financial governance, acting as the connective tissue across Sales, Finance, and Worldwide partners to translate complex financial signals into clear narratives, decisions, and actions with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

People Management

  • Responsible to lead a high-performing finance team, fostering strong business acumen, judgment, and partnership capabilities.

Prioritization

  • Owns the Americas SME&C Finance Rhythm of the Business, including monthly close insights, outlook, forecast, budget, and executive business reviews across Corporate and SMB segments and the Partner Channel business.
  • Drives clarity, consistency, and simplification of financial reporting, metrics, and executive narratives to enable leaders to focus on strategic decisions and actions.
  • Leads performance insights for the Americas SME&C business by identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities, aligning leadership on priorities, trade-offs, and outcomes.
  • Partners with Worldwide and central finance teams to translate global processes, targets, and changes into actionable plans for the Americas.

Partnership

  • Acts as a trusted finance advisor to the Americas SME&C senior leadership team, providing insights that shape strategic decisions, investments, and go-to-market execution.
  • Connects financial outcomes to market motions across AI, Security, Azure, Copilot, and Channel, ensuring leaders understand performance drivers and implications.
  • Serves as the primary finance interface across Sales, Operation, Sales Excellence, Channel Partners, and Finance teams, driving alignment, transparency, and shared accountability.

Protect

  • Sets and models the tone for financial integrity, compliance, and risk management across the Americas SME&C organization.
  • Ensures strong financial controls, governance, and adherence to Microsoft policies, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Creates an environment where teams feel empowered to surface issues, escalate concerns, and resolve challenges with integrity and accountability.


Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field
  • AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports.


Financial Analysis M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
