Overview

AI agents are rapidly becoming a core part of how work gets done in the enterprise. As organizations deploy thousands of agents across copilots, workflows, and autonomous systems, security, governance, and trust become the critical enablers of safe adoption—not constraints on innovation.

Agent 365 is Microsoft’s control plane for agents, bringing together identity, access, governance, risk, and security signals across Entra, Purview, Defender, and the Microsoft Admin Center. We help enterprises adopt agents with confidence by ensuring visibility, leastprivilege access, lifecycle governance, and protection against emerging AIspecific threats.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of core governance and security capabilities for Agent 365. This role sits at the intersection of AI platforms, identity, security, and enterprise administration—and will shape how the world’s largest organizations safely scale AI agents.

This is a high impact, high visibility role that requires strong product judgment, deep cross team leadership, and the ability to turn complex security and governance problems into clear, usable enterprise experiences.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Own the multiyear product vision and roadmap for governance and security of AI agents in the enterprise.
  • Define how enterprises discover, govern, secure, and manage agent fleets across their full lifecycle.
  • Frame ambiguous, fastevolving AI risks into clear product bets, success metrics, and investment priorities.

Lead complex, cross Microsoft execution

  • Drive alignment across Entra, Purview, Defender, Microsoft Admin Center, Copilot Studio, Foundry, and thirdparty agent ecosystems.
  • Influence architecture and platform decisions without direct authority, operating in a true “One Microsoft” model.
  • Partner deeply with engineering, design, research, security experts, and field teams to deliver durable, scalable solutions.

Build enterprise grade governance & security capabilities

  • Lead capabilities such as:
  • Agent identity, access control, and lifecycle governance
  • Policy templates and enforcement (e.g., conditional access, access packages, least privilege)
  • Risk visibility, auditing, and compliance for agent actions
  • Security posture and runtime protection for agent driven workflows
  • Ensure solutions balance security rigor with admin usability, avoiding fragmented or overly complex experiences.

Represent customer and CISO perspectives

  • Engage directly with CISOs, IAM leaders, IT admins, and regulated customers to understand real world constraints.
  • Translate customer pain points into actionable product decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Act as a trusted voice on enterprise AI risk, governance, and adoption readiness.

Raise the bar for Principal level leadership

  • Deliver the core framing for new opportunities, not just execution of existing plans.
  • Change momentum: improve clarity, alignment, and quality across teams and workstreams.
  • Mentor other PMs and model strong product thinking, written communication, and decision making.

Why This Role Matters

  • AI agents introduce new security and governance challenges that do not exist in traditional software.
  • Enterprises are demanding visibility, control, and accountability before scaling AI adoption.
  • This role directly shapes Microsoft’s ability to be the trusted platform for enterprise AI.

The work you lead here will influence:

  • How safely AI agents operate across millions of users
  • How regulators, CISOs, and customers evaluate Microsoft’s AI platforms
  • How quickly enterprises can adopt agentic AI without increasing risk
