Microsoft’s Business Planning + Monetization Team shapes the pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies for our commercial portfolio, influencing the market significantly. Within this, the New Commerce and Commercial Strategy unit steers cross-cloud monetization across Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, AI and Dynamics 365, ensuring smooth adoption of commercial strategies by the Microsoft Field, Partners, and Customers.
We seek an experienced, data-driven, change management and global enablement Senior Business Planner to drive the field sales adoption and execution of our New Commerce strategy across our enterprise and Small, Medium, Enterprise & Channel (SME&C) segments. The candidate should have effective collaboration and relationship-building skills, a strategic mindset leveraging both data and qualitative insights for decision-making, and experience in change management and readiness with a global, field sales organization.
As a Senior Business Planner, you will be responsible for partnering across multiple organizations, including Business Planning, Engineering, Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS), Finance, and others to lead the change management of complex launches. This will include building comprehensive change plans, identifying potential issues, collaborating across teams to understand other launches and their potential impact, as well as landing and driving the adoption of these changes with field sales leaders and their teams.
You will own key metrics aligned to our New Commerce strategy and partner directly with field sales to drive adoption and understand issues requiring resolution to accelerate growth. You will leverage these insights to propose strategies and capabilities that unblock adoption opportunities and partner across organizations to influence these changes.
The ideal candidate will be resilient, influential, able to synthesize data and insights for their projects and across the team and leverage executive presence to influence decisions and drive adoption. You will act as a subject matter expert, defining strategies to land in partnership with Microsoft field sales teams, collaborating with stakeholders to identify areas of opportunity, and building cases for change.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
- OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience in sales and marketing, sales enablement, change management, or other landing roles.
- Track record of problem solving from conceptualization to implementation.
- Track record of success on a cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Business acumen and analytical mindset.
- Field and/or Licensing experience preferred.
- Effective multi-faceted communicator – writing, verbal (including public speaking) and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
- Interest in contributing to a diverse and inclusive team.
- Demonstrated ability to drive impact through influencing others.
Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
