The Marketing Technology (MT) team is empowering Microsoft’s transformation to Frontier Marketing by enabling full-stack marketers and deep discipline experts with new AI-native capabilities. We unlock new audience and data estate capabilities, modernize marketing platforms for efficiency and scale, and provide discipline expertise in platforms, tools, and operational rigor. To support this transformation, we are searching for Email Capability Lead to join our Campaign Innovation & Enablement team to lead marketer self-serve email capability development to enable streamlined and next generation email and campaign execution. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, program managing, and landing solutions that enable Marketers and Marketing Operations to leverage the email channel to its full impact.
This role sits at the intersection of marketing, technology, and operations and will drive business requirements, solution planning, and cross‑functional execution of implementation across Microsoft’s marketing technology ecosystem. You will own identifying priority areas to transform, managing across key marketing stakeholders in product marketing and marketing technology, and partnering with engineering. You will serve as an expert and champion for the email go to market discipline, and drive realization of impact through ensuring change management and user adoption. The right candidate will be expected to blend business acumen, analytical rigor, program excellence, and a strong understanding of AI and technology to drive transformation and deliver results.

Responsibilities
- Translate business objectives into an actionable technology and capability roadmap for commercial email, partnering with marketing stakeholders to define priorities, tradeoffs, sequencing, and measurable outcomes that deliver the highest business impact.
- Lead structured prioritization and decision-making processes, maintaining a clear backlog and creating shared clarity on what will and will not be delivered against agreed email capability projects.
- Analyze business, operational, and financial data to define requirements, prioritize high-impact capabilities, establish success metrics, and model ROI to track realized value.
- Own end-to-end delivery of new capabilities, including project management, change management, timelines, dependencies, communications, and stakeholder readiness.
- Ensure operational scalability and durability of email-related solutions by establishing appropriate support and operational processes, governance, analytics, and reporting to measure long-term performance and impact.
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment, ensuring perspectives are heard, constraints are understood, and solutions reflect both business and operational realities.
- Communicate complex and nuanced topics with clarity, tailoring messages and updates for executives, technical teams, and non-technical partners to enable informed decisions and sustained support.
- Influence and problem-solve across a diverse set of contributors, navigating ambiguity and competing priorities to move initiatives forward and achieve win-win outcomes.
- Operate effectively in a complex, dynamic environment, flexing between strategic leadership and hands-on execution to maintain momentum and deliver results.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Technology, or related field AND 5+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, engineering operations
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, , Finance, Engineering, Technology or related field AND 5 6+ years of marketing operations, program management or project management in a technical field , engineering operations, or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Technology or related field AND 8+ years of marketing operations, program management or project management in a technical field , or related experience.
- Project or program management experience in a technical environment.
- Effective Verbal and written communication along with interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
- Experience leading cross-functional strategic projects and processes with varied stakeholders.
- Change management experience and/or experience leading transformation projects.
- Willingness to adapt quickly to shifting business priorities.
- Effective influencing skills and ability to build relationships across multiple layers in the organization.
- Marketing domain expertise and background in implementing marketing methodologies and systems.
- AI Project leadership, AI expertise.
Marketing Technology IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
