Overview
As a Software Engineer II in the Microsoft Teams Admin Portal team, you will play a critical role in building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that power the administrative experience for Microsoft Teams. You will collaborate closely with PMs, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver capabilities that help IT admins manage Teams efficiently at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based backend services using technologies such as .NET, Azure, and Cosmos DB.
  • Build APIs and services that enables configuration management in Teams Admin Center.
  • Drive performance, reliability, and security improvements in backend services.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and teams to design for scalability, resilience, and long-term maintainability.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to engineering excellence and operational readiness.


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems or services in a cloud environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building high-quality, customer-focused solutions.
  • Growth mindset with strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
