As a Senior Product Manager for the Maia SDK, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Azure's AI stack, collaborate with our customers and understands their workloads, work with top engineers and hardware experts to bring new generations of Azure Maia features to life in the SDK that will delight these customers using Maia on Azure's AI fleet.



Responsibilities


As a Senior Product Manager for the Maia team, you apply your craft to ensure seamless delivery of features by overcoming technical challenges, optimizing processes, and ensuring high quality. Responsibilities include:

  • Competitive analysis and market understanding: Drive product and user experience definition through deep understanding of comparative products SDK in-market and target user needs. You’ll be the champion for the user and create an experience that exceeds their expectations.
  • Effectively collaborate, build relationships, and influence cross-functional team closely to define, prioritize, and implement SDK related features, infrastructure, processes, and workflows.
  • Packaging and release: Define the release process for the SDK and partner with engineering to ensure quality and completeness, with focus on automation and scalability-focused infrastructure and tooling.
  • Technical documentation: You will be responsible for defining, designing, and implementing the documentation framework for the SDK (including APIs, tools, libraries, and samples/tutorials). You’ll work closely with engineering to curate high quality documentation to unlock software development on Microsoft’s latest AI accelerator.
  • Communicate with precision and clarity to drive alignment across the various stakeholders for driving decisions as well as ensuring that they stay informed.
  • Hands-on: Learn through experience. Participate in user acceptance testing of targeted scenarios to identify product opportunities to drive the feedback loop.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects with emphasis on large scale cloud Hardware & infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to understand, synthesize, summarize, & communicate solutions to complex technical problems.
  • A sizable portfolio of success with driving complex projects spanning multiple teams and matrixed organizations.
  • Familiarity with GPUs or other HW/AI accelerators
  • Hands-on experience working with deep learning and AI frameworks, Python packaging and distribution, releasing and distributing SDKs
  • Ability to work closely with developers to extract and document technical details effectively
  • Proven ability to work effectively across geographically distributed teams
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated documentation generation, packaging, integrating builds, versioning, and deployments


Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
