We are seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to lead the development of advanced AI agents and governance frameworks that empower organizations to safely and confidently deploy digital coworkers at scale. As a technical leader in the Agent365 team, you will architect, build, and optimize AI-powered solutions that redefine how enterprises manage, secure, and leverage AI agents across every department.

- Lead cutting-edge research and development in generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and multimodal agents tailored for enterprise environments.
- Translate the latest breakthroughs in AI into practical, high-impact solutions for agent governance, identity, compliance, and security.
- Architect and optimize large-scale machine learning solutions for agent relevance, ranking, and personalization across diverse business scenarios.
- Collaborate across product, engineering, and research teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable AI services. Engage with customers, IT, and security stakeholders to understand enterprise needs and shape Agent365’s product direction.
- Partner closely with engineering and product teams to deliver production-ready AI capabilities that integrate seamlessly with Microsoft’s enterprise-grade infrastructure (identity, security, compliance, etc.).
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture that embraces ownership, learning, and innovation.
- Mentor and develop applied scientists and machine learning engineers, championing best practices in experimentation, responsible AI, and rapid product iteration.
- Champion responsible AI practices, including fairness, privacy, and ethical use throughout the agent lifecycle.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research, AI/ML systems)
- OR Master’s Degree in related field AND 2+ years experience
- OR Doctorate in related field AND 1+ years experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying large language models, agentic systems, or AI-powered productivity solutions at scale.
- Expertise in advanced ML/NLP techniques, including RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and agent orchestration.
- Strong track record in cross-functional product development and delivering measurable impact through data-driven iteration.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing secure, compliant AI solutions for enterprise environments (identity, security, compliance, policy management).
- Familiarity with MLOps, model monitoring, and continuous integration/deployment for ML systems.
- Contributions to top-tier scientific venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP).
- Demonstrated leadership in building and mentoring high-performing applied science teams.
Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
