Responsibilities
The GWS Technology team is looking for an experienced Digital Transformation Technical Program Manager who can drive large-scale technology and infrastructure transformation projects.
As an agent of change, you will require broad technological expertise and must have a strong background in design, construction, application development, project management and/or program management and related processes and technologies.
You need to be able to apply advanced analytics and be experienced in principles of functional and technical architecture to define appropriate solutions and strategy at a high level.
You need demonstrable experience in establishing or developing requirements for business analysis, planning, solutions deployment, and inform operational models.
You will also be expected to do the following:
Participate in and inform GWS Technology annual strategy, vision, and roadmap.
Drive partnerships, alignment, innovation, and compliance across GWS, product groups, IT, and external partners where possible.
Oversees a portfolio of projects including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for crucial programs. Communicates the program status and risk to relevant stakeholders and holds them accountable for following the established schedule, risk mitigation plans, and processes. Establishes objectives and success criteria for the project in an inclusive collaborative manner with all stakeholders.
Facilitate experiments, POCs and prototypes that test hypothesis, validate assumptions, and create insights that inform future strategy and direction of GWS Technology investment.
Champion internal GWS innovation using the available suite of Microsoft and industry products; Power Platform, Dynamics, Azure IOT, AR/MR/VR, Azure Digital Twins, Office 365, and other products and OEM partner offerings.
Develop executive business cases, project plans, and subsequent reporting for all DT projects assigned ensuring appropriate approval, validation and assessment prior to additional investment or expansion.
Provide transparency of product and process via regular project/program reporting updates to GWS Technology senior leadership, peers, and stakeholders: evangelizing crucial programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers to gain buy in. Leveraging data and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]) to demonstrate the value of the program and show business impact. Tailoring communication style and storytelling strategy according to audience and business needs.
Drives the rhythm of business (ROB) during plan execution to ensure participants and stakeholders are communicating and responding according to the necessary cadence. Coordinates necessary cross-team collaboration (e.g., Landing, Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Technical Program Management) to ensure all program requirements are understood and can be met.
Generate awareness across GWS of available solutions through multiple mechanisms: virtual and in person presentations, partnerships, SharePoint, Yammer, social media (where possible) and documentation.
Capture data, identify risks, drive consensus, create SOWs, facilitate approvals, manage budget and timeline for DT projects assigned – creating business cases to justify CAPEX and OPEX budget requests for all DT or Innovation projects assigned.
Coordinate to ensure privacy, security and accessibility compliance with appropriate Microsoft stakeholders and other related parties (IoT and Software teams)
Work with Procurement, Compliance, Governance and legal to validate scope, contracts and terms to ensure we are following policy and GWS mandated processes wherever possible.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Preferred Qualifications or Desired Capabilities and Competencies:
Has 10+ years of prior Technical Program Management or Project Management experience - management experience involving managing direct reports (FTEs), contract workers, and virtual/matrixed partners a plus
Familiarity with software, hardware, and design development processes, agile development, lPD (Integrated Project Delivery), last planner and other planning methodologies desired
Prior experience guiding stakeholders and leading development projects.
Familiarity with current and future looking technologies and trends, both first party and third party, application and service providers in AEC and RE&F desired
Familiarity with commercial real estate operations and facilities management desired, design and construction required
Experience with innovation, experimentation, and design thinking processes, preferably in early product development
Demonstrated communications and presentation skills required
Ability to build and maintain strong networks and operate in a matrixed organization and have demonstrated facility of impact and influence with and without direct authority
Ability to develop strategies, roadmaps, business cases and ROI analysis for proposed investments
Experience with innovation, experimentation, and design thinking processes. Preferably have led a team in innovation or early product development
Demonstrable capabilities in articulating the business value that can be achieved through technology.
Demonstrable understanding of complex multisystem Integration Architectures.
Experience in formulating cloud-based solutions by mapping business problems to end-to-end technology solutions.
Consistent track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow-up with extraordinary verbal and written communication.
Resourceful, confident under pressure, and demonstrated skill in both crisis management and expectation management.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
