Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.
Withing Azure Data, the Fabric App Dev team builds and maintains services and tools that help professional developers get the most out of Fabric. This includes Fabric API for GraphQL, User Data Functions, VS Code tooling, frameworks, and more. Our mission is to innovate at the cutting edge of developer experiences to keep Fabric as the most productive data platform for professional developers, including how coding agents are changing the state of development.

Responsibilities

- Drive the e2e product strategy for one or more services
- Collaborate with engineering via specs and RFCs
- Be hands on by being the first and best user of the product and helping diagnose user issues
- Create & present exec ready pitches and demos for internal and external audiences
- Define and implement business metrics, success criteria, and dashboards/reports
- Manage rhythm of business via cross-organizational planning, business reviews, and fundamentals
- Drive cross organization alignment of partner product teams, external partners, marketing, sales, and business planning

Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years’ experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
Job Requirements: Other & Additional
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years’ experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years’ experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
- 6+ years’ experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
- 6+ years’ experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).3+ years’ experience working with databases and data modeling
- Any experience shipping a product involving agentic protocols (e.g. exposing/consuming endpoints with MCP/A2A)
- 4+ years’ experience (engineering or product) of any of the following:
- Experience with technical user interface design (e.g. SDK, OpenAPI specs, terminal applications, code editor extensions)
- Experience with at least 1 modern frontend tech stack (e.g. React, Vite, Nextjs, Svelte)
- Experience with authentication/authorization standards (e.g. OAuth2.0, OIDC)

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
