Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. Cosmos DB provides financially backed SLA (service level agreements) around 99.99 Availability and < 10 MS Latency, and we take pride in running service at scale. As a foundational Azure service, Cosmos DB service has a footprint that spans every Azure region. We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about cloud databases and who like taking data driven decisions and building innovative solutions to support the business growth. You will be responsible for building and optimizing solutions to build Cosmos DB services at scale. You will collaborate with engineers on the team and across services in Azure to architect, design and implement reliable, low-latency solutions for building Cosmos DB services. You will work across the stack to convert vision into a high quality, shipped feature. Demonstrated ability and passion for analyzing and improving large scale service deployments processes would be a plus.

• Design, develop and maintain high scale services that form the backbone of Cosmos DB.
• Dive deep into Azure technologies and distributed database systems.
• Collaborate with partners, internal and external to Azure Cosmos DB organization, to design and build features that drive service growth.
• Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
• Build reusable libraries of services best practices for other teams to leverage.
