Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsoft's cloud business.

Responsibilities
- Generate network hardware demand forecasts for a defined network tier that supports engineering requirements, business needs, sourcing specifications and the execution/deployment strategies. This HW includes switches, optics, cables etc.
- Own the hardware demand plan and work with stakeholders to actively identify, communicate and mitigate the risks during budget or supply constraints situations.
- Work with various stakeholders for smooth product transitions (NPI), inventory management, Capex budget/spend management.
- Lead cross functional planning initiatives to identify and define strategic initiatives to ensure hardware is not in the critical path for capacity
- Explain drivers of month-over-month change, and corresponding financial impact.
- Reporting/Data Analysis - Extract data from multiple systems (SQL/Kusto) and provide insights and visualizations.
- Create reports using Power BI. Strong data analysis skills are essential.
- Continuously improve and simplify processes; contribute to defining next-generation planning processes and tools to scale Microsoft's cloud growth.
- Develop comprehensive KPIs and metrics using data-driven approaches/modeling. Own the metrics for the defined business area and drive improvement actions.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong technical aptitude with excellent visual and verbal communication skills with ability to influence business and technical decision makers.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in leading consensus demand planning process, and a proven track record of executing demand planning processes.
- 4+ years of experience leading cross-functional processes with key stakeholders including product groups, finance, sales & marketing, operations, planning and sourcing functions
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related equivalent field + 6 years of experience
- Deep understanding of cloud network infrastructure and planning.
- Knowledge or demonstrated experience in demand planning, capacity planning and system architecture.
- Proven problem-solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
- Proficient at creating and analyzing business information and defining key business results/metrics with a proficiency in data tools such as Excel, SQL and PowerBI.
Demand Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
