Overview

The Industry & Operations Global Frontline Team in Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) has an opportunity for you to join a team that prides itself on collaboration, learning, energy, empathy, and creating wins for Microsoft and its partners and customers. Your primary responsibility will be to provide legal support to Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) and Microsoft Elevate, enabling business teams to meet and exceed their sales targets. You will work with multiple stakeholders, including account teams, licensing executives, and CELA colleagues focused on scaling legal support across the company through our “legal front door.”

Responsibilities
  • Acts as a legal adviser for business clients that submit questions through our global intake channels and and escalates to other CELA colleagues as needed for subject matter expert support.
  • Uses and maintains company tools, resources, databases, and processes related to one's practice area to efficiently achieve work objectives and recommends ways to improve efficiency.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes work tasks and projects based on practice area goals and manager input.
  • Drafts, processes and/or reviews legal and other documents (e.g., contracts, applications) and correspondence.
  • Reviews business materials (e.g., marketing collateral, requests for proposals) and programs for compliance with applicable laws and Microsoft internal policies.
  • Builds a knowledge of Microsoft businesses to ensure legal advice aligns with client strategies.
  • Stays informed on company compliance initiatives to support a “compliant-by-design" approach to solving problem.



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in Paralegal, Legal Administration, or relevant experience; OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years relevant in-house, legal service provider, and/or law firm experience.
  • 2+ years experience in a technology industry environment.


Business Program Management IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $68,300 - $122,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $93,200 - $139,800 per year.
