As a Senior Software Engineer- M365 Copilot App on the team, you will be responsible for designing, building and running core features of the Copilot application across Windows, Mac, and Web platforms. You will lead design decisions and contribute hands-on code to build applications, balancing innovation with platform stability. You will work closely with other engineers to take ideas through implementation, validation, and release. You will write secure, reliable, scalable code as well as test automation and telemetry to measure its behavior in production. You will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment to design, prototype, implement, and ship features. You will partner across multiple product and platform teams in Microsoft. You will mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical capabilities in design, performance profiling, and cross-platform design systems. You will provide engineering leadership to the team taking on technical issues inherent in building and delivering a consumer-grade application that powers cross-platform AI experiences.

Responsibilities
- From fast evolving new features to long-term architecture investments, you will be responsible for shipping robust, performant, reliable and delightful experiences to millions of customers.
- Team members collaborate on every detail of design, implementation, validation and monitoring of feature usage and health across M365 Copilot desktop and web clients and backend services.
- You will get a chance to enrich the core of M365 Copilot App, which is powered by our native C++ codebase, making product changes that allow us to stay in lockstep with the changing needs of our customers.
- You will have the opportunity to advance engineering excellence by driving design discussions, contributing to code reviews and participating in knowledge sharing sessions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience in application platform and architecture.
- 4+ years of proficiency in design, debugging, analytics, live site and problem solving.
- 4+ years of experience shipping multiple releases.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Passion for customers, product quality, service excellence, test engineering and having a growth mindset
- Ability to work cross group and across disciplines.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $114,400 - CAD $203,900 per year.
