We are looking for an Applied Scientist to join our team—Power Platform Core! This is an exciting time to join our group and work on growing our Power Apps and Power Automate business while transforming existing apps with AI. You will help shape our data strategy to inform product decisions, drive investment portfolio, and identify new growth areas. The data scientist will partner with our engineering teams to solve complex problems at scale while doing so with impeccable quality.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and expand expertise in one or more subareas of research and understand applicable research techniques. You’ll also gain deep knowledge of a service, platform, or domain, and become familiar with the latest industry trends and applied technologies.

  • Leverage data focused on developing product growth strategy, data informed product decisions, leveraging AI and creating self-service solution for PM and SWE to leverage

  • Build predictive models, optimization algorithms, and causal inference frameworks to inform strategic decisions, customer and market insights along with product performance.

  • Decelop, perform, and optimize AI feature evaluation process for new Power Platform products and features for both ext and multimodal scenarios

  • You will document work in progress and share findings to promote innovation within a group. You’ll also learn and follow ethics and privacy policies while executing research processes or collecting information.


Qualifications

Required Qualification(s):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
    • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
    • OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering,

    • OR related field AND 5+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)

    • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering,

    • OR related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)

    • OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical.

    • 1+ year(s) experience creating publications (e.g., patents, peer-reviewed academic papers).

Applied Sciences IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
