Responsibilities
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features and incorporates feedback into proposed solutions.
- Contributes to the identification of dependencies and the development of design documentation for a product area with limited oversight.
- Develops and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code when appropriate and following engineering best practices.
- Breaks down larger work items into smaller deliverables and provides estimates to support planning and execution.
- Participates as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in on-call rotations to monitor for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and supports restoration of service for straightforward issues per established processes.
- Supports deployments that use intelligence from algorithm training by helping to create, apply, validate, and iterate on models integrated into real-world products, and assesses model performance.
- Improves availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance by staying current on relevant tools and practices and applying them to monitoring and operations at scale.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python,
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Qualifications
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python,
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python,
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of industry experience in service development, successfully shipping services through multiple releases.
- Experience creating AI-centric experiences, or familiarity with building AI orchestration systems.
- Experience utilizing generative AI, conduct experiments, and evaluate AI effectiveness in product improvements.
- Experience building scalable applications and services with Azure or other scalable cloud platforms with robust performance, resiliency, telemetry, and security.

Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
