Microsoft is on a mission to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more. Our culture is centred on embracing a growth mindset and inspiring excellence.

We’re hiring a sales director to lead our Retail, CPG, Travel and Transport industry within the Enterprise Commercial (EC) team in Australia. This role will be a core member of the ANZ Enterprise Commercial leadership team, reporting directly into the EC Lead, and be responsible for driving strategic growth across this sector.

You’ll lead a team of Account Executives and Account Technology Strategists to orchestrate Microsoft’s full commercial and technical resources, including close partnership with various key stakeholders, to deliver transformative outcomes for customers.

Responsibilities

As Sales Director, you will help enable digital transformation across the Retail, CPG, Travel and Transport industries.

Your responsibilities in this role include enabling customers to innovate and achieve the best for themselves and their customers. You’ll build trust and integrity through ethical sales and a focus on sustainable growth with clients. You’ll help ensure every one of the Microsoft team members feel they can be their full and authentic self while achieving their best work. You’ll do so by personally committing to being an active and intentional participant in a diverse and inclusive Microsoft culture.

Specifically, you will:

  • Own the sales strategy and execution across the relevant territories, delivering growth against revenue, cloud consumption and customer success targets.
  • Lead and coach a high-performing account team, fostering a culture of clarity, energy and accountability.
  • Build and deepen executive relationships with CxO stakeholders across the portfolio, positioning Microsoft as a strategic partner for innovation and growth.
  • Be the Retail Industry leader for Microsoft ANZ, partnering closely with our regional and global industry teams.
  • Drive adoption of Microsoft’s AI and cloud capabilities, ensuring account plans reflect customer transformation goals.
  • Integrate partner co-sell motions into every account, leveraging the ecosystem to scale impact and accelerate deal velocity.
  • Ensure operational excellence across forecasting, pipeline hygiene and deal execution, with disciplined use of Microsoft’s sales processes and tools.
  • Being an outstanding partner for enterprise customers, bringing value by understanding their business and aligning the best of MS to support their success.
  • Contribute to the broader ANZ Enterprise Commercial leadership team, sharing insights, supporting cross-segment initiatives and modelling Microsoft’s values.

Qualifications
  • Proven enterprise sales leadership experience, ideally 15+ years with direct people management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large account teams, drive strategic growth and deliver against ambitious targets.
  • Industry expertise.
  • Exceptional communication and executive engagement skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships at CxO level.
  • Experience orchestrating multi-solution sales and working across technical, commercial and partner teams.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and operational discipline.
  • Inclusive leadership style, with a commitment to coaching, mentoring and building diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology or related field preferred.
