Responsibilities
- Build the future of design systems: Help establish new, model-first design paradigms and standards that scale across Microsoft 365.
- Prototype next-gen interactions: Explore and validate new ways people and AI collaborate—beyond screens and clicks—through rapid prototyping.
- Create tools for makers: Develop innovative tools and workflows that leverage generative AI to accelerate design and engineering.
- Bridge design and engineering: Translate design intent into high-quality, interactive experiences that feel seamless and human.
- Collaborate deeply: Work alongside designers, researchers, and engineers to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction or related field AND 2+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in UX engineering, front-end development, or related fields—or equivalent expertise.
- Experience with web technologies: TypeScript, React/Next.js, HTML, CSS/SCSS.
- Solid prototyping, coding, debugging and problem-solving skills .
- Solid communication skills and experience working cross-functionally.
- Ability to effectively work on cross functional teams with Design, Research, Engineering, and PM.
- GitHub, CodePen, or other links showcasing coding skills OR portfolio is required.
- Experience with design systems at scale.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or Microsoft Azure services.
- Passion for human-computer interaction and emerging design paradigms.
- Experience with Figma and other design software.
UX Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
