Overview

As a Microsoft Regional Datacenter Business Operations Program Manager (BPM), you will provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise related to datacenter related services. You will also assist in quarterly spend review activities at a datacenter as well as regional level. This job will allow you to build an understanding of demonstrate and further develop your expertise in datacenter services. It will also provide you with opportunities of working with teams across various geographies.

As a CO+I BPM, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise related to the delivery of datacenter-centric services.
  • Solving complex challenges between remote and onsite support personnel
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly spend management review materials at datacenter site and regional level.
  • Assist with tracking of datacenter Maintenance and Repair activities.
  • Create and manage the end-to-end process for the planning and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, automation and programs.
  • Assist in managing organizational supplier contracts end to end (procurement engagement, cost/terms negotiations, contracting, change orders, scorecards, recurring business reviews, etc.)
  • Support organizational financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Evaluate cost savings opportunities and implement strategic projects to realize savings.
  • Leverage local subject matter expert's knowledge, spread adoption of best practices, and expose best practices to the onsite datacenter field teams.
  • Act on opportunities to increase agility, and contribute to workstreams to evolve processes, services, and solutions for Operations and Service Level Agreements for CO+I
  • Coordinate closely between datacenter field operations teams and Global Business Operations to foster alignment and partnerships for business success.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 6+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
    • OR equivalent experience

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field AND 12+ years experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)
    • OR High School Qualification or equivalent AND 14+ years experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Applicable certifications: APICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, CCNA Certifications, ITIL v3 Foundation, Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) Certifications.
  • Knowledge or background supporting AI.
  • Prior experiences in driver-based cost analysis


Data Center Operations Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $127,600 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,900 - $253,300 per year.
