Overview

Proactively cultivates relationships with customers and uses Microsoft sales strategies to establish alignment and secure buy in and execution. Proactively develops a comprehensive understanding of customer's needs and strategies, priorities, and industry direction. Leads digital transformation to drive business outcomes and create business value for customers. Develops and oversees the execution of account plans to ensure engagements yield high volume sales for both Microsoft and the customer. Thinks strategically about account planning, setting standards and priorities, outlining where to and how to invest resources. Oversees a complex accounts and leads planning and prioritization efforts to ensure appropriate responses to account needs. Engages with key internal partners to promote long-term, mutually-beneficial digital transformation strategies. Leverages key executive relationships to build trust with the customer organization. Leverages best-in-class sales and communication techniques to lead extended virtual teams and key stakeholders with deep industry expertise. Translates features into business impact and outcomes that accelerate the customer's digital presence. Develops compelling, value-proposition presentations and specialized business plans for customers that drive business outcomes. Develops and implements plans for maximizing upselling/cross-selling opportunities in certain accounts. Proactively coordinates with network of industry experts to build strong knowledge of the industry and the competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

Account Leadership & Growth

  • Owns and executes multi‑year account plans that deliver revenue, consumption, and long‑term strategic growth.
  • Identifies new business opportunities, drives large bets, and aligns cross‑functional and partner teams toward shared goals.
  • Prioritizes resources and investments, influences internal stakeholders, and ensures a disciplined Rhythm of Business across accounts.

Customer Engagement & Business Transformation

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior executives, shaping digital transformation agendas and challenging customer thinking with innovative insights.
  • Establishes strong executive alignment, runs strategic RoB, and demonstrates clear ROI of technology investments.
  • Leverages deep understanding of customer business/industry needs to anticipate demand and co‑create new business and technology strategies.

Partner Co‑sell & Ecosystem Leadership

  • Expands and nurtures a strong partner ecosystem to jointly deliver customer outcomes and scale growth.
  • Co-develops joint solutions, drives opportunity sharing, and aligns partner capabilities to customer priorities.
  • Works directly with partner sellers to accelerate pipeline and close non‑qualified opportunities.

Sales Excellence & Execution Discipline

  • Owns pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and risk mitigation to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Delivers compelling value propositions and industry‑specific narratives to influence business decision makers.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction, proactively resolves blockers, and establishes clear success metrics.

Industry & Thought Leadership

  • Demonstrates deep industry knowledge to position Microsoft solutions with credibility and context.
  • Serves as a thought leader internally and externally, guiding virtual teams and shaping strategic customer conversations.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration AND experience working in an industry (especially energy and/or manufacturing), driving digital transformation, or other relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, technology)
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, or related field AND extensive experience working in an industry (especially energy and/or manufacturing), driving digital transformation, or other relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, technology)
    • OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration AND extensive experience working in an industry (especially energy and/or manufacturing), driving digital transformation, or other relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, technology)
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, or related field AND extensive experience working in an industry (especially energy and/or manufacturing), driving digital transformation, or other relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, technology)
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Extensive account management experience OR equivalent.
