Overview

Microsoft’s Public Sector Account Team Unit focuses on empowering Danish Public Sector customers on their AI and Cloud journey. This team is responsible for envisioning new possibilities for our customers, delivering solutions that result in targeted business outcomes and driving revenue growth for Microsoft.

As a Senior Account Executive, you will have the opportunity to drive digital technology transformation (in partnership with our customers) with a focus on AI, Cloud, Copilot and Security to achieve both Microsoft and customer business outcomes. Leveraging your large, multi-functional team across the breadth of the Microsoft solutions portfolio, you will engage at executive levels and bring industry-relevant solutions to help the customer adopt and embrace digital technologies.

Embracing a challenger mindset, the successful Senior Account Executive manages, orchestrates, and leads their virtual teams and closes opportunities with customers that produce transformative business outcomes. With a proven history of driving growth in market share, achieving sales targets, customer obsession, and partner collaboration, this role will give the opportunity to leverage your extensive customer network and sales experience to execute against your customer’s account plan.

We are currently looking for Senior Account Executives to join our Public Sector team in Denmark covering our largest Danish customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drives Innovation and Transformation: Acts as a catalyst for change by embracing frontier firm principles—experimenting with new approaches, learning from failures, and iterating quickly to deliver breakthrough solutions for customers.
  • Champions a Growth Mindset: Fosters a culture of curiosity and adaptability, encouraging teams and customers to explore emerging technologies and business models.
  • Customer Advocate: Develops and oversees the execution of account plan(s) to ensure Microsoft revenue targets and customer outcomes are met.
  • Engages with internal and external stakeholders on business planning to promote mutually beneficial customer digital transformation strategies.
  • Orchestrates a full customer team across all areas of Microsoft to ensure we are focused on delivering customer outcomes across the customer lifecycle to build deep trust with Microsoft.
  • Proactively develops a deep understanding of Public Sector customers’ missions and priorities and maintains current industry expertise across the ecosystem. Uses these insights—through direct customer engagement—to identify new business, shape strategy, and accelerate growth.
  • Advocates on behalf of the customer internally, ensuring requests and needs of assigned accounts are being addressed.
  • Deliver Sales Excellence: Leads and orchestrates extended virtual teams across our solution areas to consistently achieve growth in revenue & market share.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, or related field AND experience working in a relevant industry and/or driving digital transformation
    • OR a Master's Degree in Business Administration AND experience working in Public Sector and/or driving digital transformation
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Fluency or business level Danish and English language skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • account management experience OR equivalent.
  • experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
  • experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.
