Overview

Xbox Studios Quality is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager who brings a growth mindset, a passion for customer success, and an insatiable curiosity to lead our program/product development and drive innovation across our portfolios leveraging AI (Artificial Intelligence) /ML (Machine Learning).

To excel in this role, you’ll need a technical background and a deep understanding of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, data analysis, and various AI models and training workflows. Experience collaborating with Data Scientists, Applied Scientists and Data Engineering to advance programs and product development is essential.

As a key member of the product team, you’ll be instrumental in shaping both the short- and long-term vision for our portfolio. Your expertise will empower you to influence the Data & AI team’s research priorities, while your user-centric and product-focused mindset will help guide our product/program development and strategic roadmap. In addition, your technical skills will enable you to effectively support the engineering team with data analysis and model development.

Comfort with ambiguity, the ability to drive clarity across cross-functional teams, and a talent for influencing organizational practices are all vital for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Drive program strategy and execution leveraging AI/ML across our product portfolios.

  • Partner with Quality Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Applied Scientists, and Software Engineers, and other domain owners to holistically collate requirements with research and drive program development.

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value. Craft specs, work with engineering, and drive results that align with organizational priorities.

  • Lead feature teams, including the planning and execution.

  • Increase team efficiency and influence our culture of quality with process and technological improvements.

  • Identify innovative solutions that will eliminate unnecessary quality cost to engineering.

  • Dive deep into complex architectural landscapes and ability to quickly understand technical and programmatic concepts, flows, and design.

  • Experience defining and running end-to-end complex technical programs

  • Leadership, organizational, and communication skills



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects, working with software development lifecycles from conception to delivery.
  • Experience in leading cross functional teams that build and ship an AI/ML product from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.)
  • Experience working and leading teams with software quality teams, data scientists, and applied scientists to drive business outcomes.
  • Experience with game development or other entertainment fields.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional v-teams to desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across product, engineering, design, data, and partners.
  • Executive caliber communication skills: clear narratives, crisp tradeoffs, and decision-ready materials.
  • Excels at influencing without authority.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
