Overview

Overview:

The Fabric App Dev team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the foundation of data app platform on Microsoft Fabric. This team owns the development of the data app platform on Microsoft Fabric, enabling developers to build, manage, and operate applications with simplicity and SaaS-like efficiency.

In this role, you will implement features for Fabric Data App products like API for GraphQL, User Data Functions that power Fabric Data Apps. You will work on technologies ranging from distributed cloud services, Web UX to developer experience tools like VS Code— giving end-to-end understanding of building products. You will collaborate closely with peers and partner teams, cross-functional product team, write high-quality code, and ensure robust testing and reliability. You will learn about the challenges that affect operations at a global scale and help design and optimize the next generation Apps on Fabric.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience building full stack Web applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience building and operating cloud services at scale
  • 3+ years of experience building applications using public cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or GCP
  • 2+ years of experience building developer tooling like CLI, VS Code extensions, SDK for languages including, but not limited to, javascript, python

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
  • Implement features and fixes for Fabric App components, including distributed cloud services and developer tools.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices.
  • Participate in design discussions, providing input and learning from senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with product managers, team members and partner teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring and investigating services for degradation, downtime and resolve technical issues to ensure service reliability and performance.
