We are seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to help build, scale, and operate next-generation networking infrastructure that powers Azure Dedicated solutions. This role provides tremendous opportunities to work with industry-leading technologies and partners like VMware, Nutanix, NetApp, Arista, Cisco, HPE while collaborating closely across Azure Compute, Storage, Networking, and Security teams.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.
- OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 1+ years experience with Azure Networking (VNet, ExpressRoute, Private Link, UDRs, VPN, NSGs) or equivalent cloud networking services.
- 1+ years hands-on experience with enterprise network devices (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, etc.) and automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform, PowerShell).
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- 11+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology,
- OR related field AND 8+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology,
- OR related field AND 6+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology,
- OR related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation. 1+ year(s) experience delivering network designs into production and experience with live site accountability for a network.
- 1+ years hands on experience with troubleshooting complex network issues in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Foundation in networking concepts — BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, SDN, IPsec, and routing/switching architectures.
- Familiarity with VMware NSX, Nutanix Flow, or other SDN platforms.
- Prior experience with private cloud platforms such as KVM, VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack, or Proxmox.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Telegraf, Fluentd, Prometheus, etc.).
- Communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
Cloud Network Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage end-to-end network architectures for Azure Dedicated environments, including hybrid connectivity, ExpressRoute, and SDN-based solutions.
- Integrate and validate 3rd-party platforms (VMware, Nutanix etc.) with Azure networking services to deliver seamless customer experiences.
- Optimize network performance, reliability, and security across large-scale, mission-critical cloud environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal Azure teams and external partners to define standards, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive service improvements.
- Contribute to live-site operations, automation, and observability initiatives to improve uptime and reduce manual interventions.
