Overview
As a Senor Product Designer, you will help shape the foundation of Outlook Experience Studios design systems, ensuring consistency, scalability, and innovation across products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—design, engineering, and product management—to create robust systems that empower designers and developers to deliver cohesive, accessible, and delightful user experiences.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR equivalent experience.
- Solid portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and user-centered design.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams in an agile environment.
- Familiarity with responsive design, accessibility standards, and token-based design systems.
- Ability to write clear documentation and usage guidelines.
- Solid communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with design for AI-driven or adaptive systems.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (CSS, HTML) for better collaboration with developers.
Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Design System Development: Contribute to the evolution of Microsoft’s design language, components, and patterns for cross-platform experiences.
- Component Design & Documentation: Plan, create and maintain reusable components in Figma and document usage guidelines for designers and engineers.
- Collaboration: Partner with engineering and PM teams to ensure design specifications are feasible and implemented with high fidelity.
- Systems Thinking: Apply deep systems thinking to solve complex design challenges and maintain consistency across multiple surfaces and products.
- Advocacy: Evangelize design system adoption internally and provide guidance to product teams on best practices.
- Iteration & Feedback: Conduct usability reviews, gather feedback, and iterate on system components to improve quality and performance.
- Research & Development: Stay on top of the latest systems design trends and best practices, including Figma functionality updates and AI-driven systems thinking.
