As the Sales Director, Consumer Sales (North America) you will lead a team of Account Sales Executives responsible for Consumer Sales for the PC Ecosystem (Devices & Creativity) encompassing Windows, Microsoft Surface and M365.

This role is demanding yet hugely rewarding as you strategize, collaborate and execute across a wide aperture of business elements across North America.

This role requires a leader who builds trusted relationships, both externally & internally, be a source of energy and creates clarity to deliver mutual commercial outcomes for Microsoft and our Partners all whilst modeling, coaching and caring for your team.

The Sales Director has two distinct roles; first to lead the sales team and deliver against the goals & aspirations for the Accounts. Second, as a key contributor to the America’s Sales Leadership Team; to bring cross-team innovation, empower others and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field AND 8+ years partner management, sales, business development, platform ecosystem/network, or partner channel development in the technology industry OR 10+ years partner management, sales, business development, platform ecosystem/network, or partner channel development in the technology industry OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience with planning, budgeting, and other project management activities.
  • 2+ years people management experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field AND 12+ years partner management, sales, business development, platform ecosystem/network, or partner channel development in the technology industry OR 14+ years partner management, sales, business development, platform ecosystem/network, or partner channel development in the technology industry OR equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years experience with planning, budgeting, and other project management activities.
  • Demonstrated consultative selling experience & capability.
  • Commercial & Financial acumen. This role is accountable for Sell-In, Sell-Through, Gross Margin, Inventory Management, Receivables Management
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaboration skills - ability to effectively influence others in multiple groups and collaborate to achieve specific goals.
  • Proven analytical experience with sales, trend analysis, forecasting market and market share, assortment development to help drive accurate sell through forecasts.
  • Proven track record of developing Joint Business Plans and Strategies for new business development and product launches.
  • Creative thought leadership to continue evolving the business to meet the needs of our partners and end customers.
  • Requires an individual with broad skill-set encompassing sales & relationship management capabilities. Must be able to communicate and manage at all levels.
  • Other competencies include: Drive for Results, Problem Solving, Planning, Organizing and Coordinating, Decision Making, Creativity, Communication Skills, Negotiation and Conflict Management, Customer Focus, Representing Microsoft and Cross Group Collaboration.
  • While infrequent, this role will require some degree of travel.

Partner Account Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.

Responsibilities

Sales Leadership and Partner Management

  • Sales and business performance for Consumer Windows original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Surface and M365 across North America.
  • Success starts with an appreciation and comprehension of the consumer audience your Partners aim to serve and the unique role that each Retailer plays in North America.
  • The role requires an adept ability to prioritize time and effort to ensure both Accounts deliver optimal performance across all products. This requires developing insights on business drivers, Partners capabilities and competitive trends for consumer hardware, software, subscriptions, consumption & willingness to renew & repurchase; building loyalty to both the Retailer & Microsoft.
  • Proactively cultivates relationships with the Retailers, OEM’s, Silicon Partners and uses Microsoft sales strategies with executive, merchandizing and marketing decision makers of the Partner’s organization through consultative engagement to establish alignment and secure buy-in and execution.
  • Develops and oversees the execution of Account Plans, utilizing common sales and delivery methodology for the Microsoft sales organization for multiple accounts and works to ensure engagements yield high volume sales for both Microsoft and the customer that are on track with goals, outcomes, and forecasts.
  • Establish rhythm of business to drive Sales by meticulous Account planning/forecasting, both in the near term and leading into long-range planning with Partners.
  • Building an assortment strategy, working closely with Partner Marketing to plan and implement compelling retail marketing activities to support product placement (physical/digital), consumer discovery, attach-to-device, renewal motions.
  • Understanding the consumer and marketplace dynamics and appreciate the importance of channel hygiene.

People Management

  • You will deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring.
  • You will develop, empower and transform your Account Team to meet Partner and Channel needs by hiring, retaining, and developing talent.
