The Worldwide Windows Consumer Category Team drives global Windows consumer growth by shaping category strategy, leading seasonal and go-to-market planning, and partnering with ecosystem partners to deliver the right devices, experiences, and business outcomes.
As a key member of this team, the Windows Category Manager is responsible for building and activating joint consumer plans with leading silicon partners such as AMD, Intel, Nvidia, and Qualcomm.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- 4+ years category management, product management, marketing strategy, business planning, product planning, or related work experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience managing and expanding a category and attaining sales and profitability targets within a complex (e.g., multinational or matrixed) organization OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years Consumer Electronics/IT ecosystem experience with a focus on devices and services sales across consumer segments.
- Understanding of Windows ecosystem (OEM, silicon, PC category)
- Knowledge of consumer sales channels, as well as the retail landscape and digital marketplace.
- Track record of sales delivery and execution through partner/customer obsession.
- Consumer channel management with proven business operational excellence and sales. results through joint business planning, landing channel strategies, account management, and performance monitoring.
- Driving long-term sustainable sales growth with partners.
- Delivery on Quarterly and Annual Account Budgeted Revenue and key scorecard metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple complex discussions while maintaining confidentiality.
Category Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities
Strategy, Planning & Activation
- Plan and execute strategic planning sessions multiple times per year to align joint business objectives and initiatives across teams including focus on assortment, marketing and joint initiatives.
- Deliver bi-annual silicon program strategy and execution, capturing learnings and driving continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver joint business plans, ensuring alignment across sales, marketing, and partner organizations.
Business Process and Governance
- Establish and implement business processes and governance frameworks that enable effective collaboration and alignment across global and regional CCS sales, marketing, silicon partners, and key stakeholders – coordinating executive meetings, partner engagements, communications, and cross-team collaboration.
Regional Alignment
- Partner closely with CCS regional teams to localize global strategies and capture insights to inform future strategic planning.
- Deliver roadmap guidance to inform and enable future strategic planning
- Program Management
- Oversee program structure, documentation, and communications for silicon initiatives.
- Ensure effective internal communications to drive clarity and alignment across Microsoft teams.
Performance Reporting
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) with silicon partners, targeting measurable business outcomes.
- Analyze sales data, draw relevant conclusions, and develop accurate business plans and forecasts.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain solid working relationships with silicon partners.
- Influence and align multiple internal stakeholder groups across marketing, sales, etc
- Oversee and guide cross-functional support teams
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive business information, partner data, and strategic initiatives.
