Overview
As a Senior Researcher you will have the opportunity to design and lead the implementation of state-of-the-art computer vision multimodal models to transform the Windows experience. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Python and 2+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks such as Pytorch and Tensorflow.
- Experience in computer vision and/or signal processing.
- Experience in deep learning, including the mechanisms behind operators and numerical optimization.
Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- 3+ years' experience with Python and deep learning libraries
- Demonstrated record of publications in top-tier conferences or journals (ICLR, ACL, EMLP, ICML, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, TPAMI, etc.).
- Experience in computer vision, especially low-level vision, focusing on image and video quality enhancements.
Research Sciences IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Research focusing on the field of computer vision with proficiency in deep learning(DL) techniques to help our devices compute better understanding of the user and the environment.
- Implementation: Train, distill, and finetune computer vision models in PyTorch, AzureML stack.
- Machine learning engineering: Build pipelines to test designs, algorithms and models.
- Data science: Research and develop synthetic data generation strategies.
- Proactively follow state of the art research and share latest work, write papers, attend conferences and share knowledge in the wider team.
