Overview

Microsoft Azure is building a high-performance and reliable public cloud, and we are seeking individuals who can work across the full technology stack—from hardware to systems to applications—turning ideas into production systems quickly. Join us as a Hardware Engineer to help create one of the world’s fastest public clouds and make a meaningful impact for millions of users worldwide.

As a Hardware Engineer, on the Azure Boost Storage Acceleration Hardware team, you will be responsible for micro-architecture and hardware module design, timing closure, rigorous verification and testing of hardware systems, and deploying accelerated storage services. You will drive the next generation of accelerated storage through hardware-first protocols such as Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe), optimizing designs to enhance input/output operations per second (IOPS), bandwidth, latency, and overhead. This role offers the unique opportunity for rapid hardware development, enabling concepts to reach production within months instead of years.

This position provides a rare chance for hardware developers to see their register-transfer level (RTL) code go to production within weeks and for software developers to leverage the performance and efficiency of customized hardware. Help us build one of the few truly hyperscale global clouds, with innovation opportunities spanning every level of the computing stack.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
