Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience with NOSQL databases and high volume / throughput web applications and their design.
- 2+ years of experience in programming in C#
- 2+ years of full-stack experience developing distributed web service applications with highly concurrent server-side code
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience creating, releasing, and evolving large commercial software components or products at scale.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities
- Solve problems in distributed and concurrent computing, including cross-datacenter geo-replication, disaster recovery, work distribution, and large-scale data migration.
- Collaborate in an agile environment, interacting with major Office 365 teams to build cross-service integrations.
- Partner with stakeholders to define user requirements and incorporate feedback from multiple channels into designs and solutions.
- Develop extensible, maintainable, and reliable code, applying diagnosability principles and reusing components where applicable.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), monitoring systems for degradation or downtime and restoring service for simple issues.
- Drive improvements in engineering processes, ensuring quality, managing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Embody Microsoft’s Culture and Values in all aspects of work.
