Overview
The Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is driving marketing transformation across Microsoft’s largest and fastest-growing commercial cloud businesses. We are seeking a culturally fluent and highly curious Senior Social Audience Strategist to dive deep into our commercial audiences and online product communities. As part of the GME&E Social & Creative team, this role is responsible for understanding the nuances and social media habits of our core audiences and customers like developers, IT decision-makers, information workers, CISOs and more. You’ll work across a dynamic set of channels (including TikTok, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, Facebook, X, Reddit, Discord, and LinkedIn) to mine for audience insights that spark everything from our next social post to our next great social campaign. Ideal candidates have outstanding listening skills and are world-class pattern matchers. Deep platform knowledge, creative instincts, and a passion for online community behavior are a must. You should be energized by emerging trends, fluent in B2B dynamics, and confident presenting to senior stakeholders. A strong bias for collaboration, clarity, and experimentation is key.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in social media strategy, integrated marketing, or content development OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing social media programs, ideally for business to business or technology brands.
- 3+ years of experience managing social channels in a corporate or agency setting, with experience briefing creative and managing editorial calendars.
- Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 2+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
5+ years experience marketing to commercial and technical audiences Experience working with or on creative teams in a corporate or agency setting Strong command of social listening tools and insight gathering
5+ years experience storytelling, writing, and presentation skills, including experience communicating with senior executives.

5+ years experience managing multiple stakeholders, vendors, and timelines in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail, coupled with strong strategic and creative thinking.

Responsibilities
- Mine comments, analyze data, and hunt for patterns across the Internet to inform creative opportunities.
- Represent community perspectives in campaign briefings, unlocking new creative opportunities.
- Guide creative teams and agency partners in developing high-quality, social-native content for editorial and tentpole campaigns.
- Connect social insights to organizational and business objectives across customer solution areas.
- Monitor cultural trends, competitor activity, and social innovation, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Drive internal alignment through storytelling, stakeholder education, and regular insight sharing across marketing and business stakeholders.
