We are looking for a Finance Director to join the GitHub Strategic Finance team and work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and fun environment. There are three major revenue plays for GitHub: Land (Core Platform), Secure (GitHub Advanced Security) and Accelerate (Copilot). This individual will be responsible for owning the finance story, as FP&A lead, you will own the revenue reviews, partner closely with sales and engineering leadership teams, to drive the performance and health of the GitHub business. The successful candidate has ownership, business partnering, collaboration, leadership and manager experience and analytical skills, as well as a proven track record of driving clarity and shared understanding. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, connect the dots, and adapt in line with the dynamic business. We are hiring a Finance Director – GitHub FP&A Lead who will be focused on influencing our Forecast, Planning and Exec business reviews, as well as critical partnerships across MCAPS and GitHub Sales leadership teams. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports.

Preferred Qulaifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
    • OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 15+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Cross group collaboration skills including the ability to comfortably communicate with executive management.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple inputs across many stakeholders, prioritizing the effort on the main drivers.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at a very fast pace
  • Proficient analytical and strategic thinker
  • Ability to identify opportunities for the business and build and nurture relationships across finance and business partners to drive results and insights.
  • Show propensity for learning, and demonstrate ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and deliver sound solutions

Financial Analysis M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a highly functional and fast paced team, across the end to end view of GitHub’s portfolio of products. Help build and guide leadership towards key priorities, focus areas and performance goals
  • Support key financial performance and executive reviews, offering and strategic decisions across a variety of stakeholders including marketing, engineering, sales and finance leaders.
  • Provide deep analytics and customer scenarios to target and develop business growth plans, to enable sellers to target customers better
  • Build and refine GTM strategy across incentive compensation, partner planning, and customer support
  • Conduct financial and scenario analysis to ensure business and financial success of new programs and offers from a customer, revenue growth, profitability, and usage perspective.

Protect

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring accuracy of financial documents and business processes. Drives corrective measures.
  • Consults with business partners on sharing financial information, approved instruments and processes, and consistency with corporate policies. Collaborates with Compliance groups to ensure team is current on company policies and procedures.
