Overview

At Microsoft, our mission is to enable every individual and organization on the planet to achieve more. In Microsoft Gaming’s Game Content and Studios division, we support this mission by bringing the joy and community of gaming to everyone. We are home to some of the most iconic franchises in gaming history: Age of Empires, Call of Duty, Candy Crush, DOOM, Fallout, Forza, Gears of War, Halo, Minecraft, The Elder Scrolls, World of Warcraft, and more. We believe when everyone plays, we all win.

The Director of Strategy & Market Performance plays an essential part within the Game Content & Studios Business & Operations organization. Reporting to the GM of Business and Product Management, this person is responsible for leading change by collaborating with Studios to improve engagement and portfolio health. This position focuses on strategic planning, which includes assessing markets, shaping business strategies, and driving monetization efforts. Achieving success means being able to define and tackle complex issues, identify important insights, find creative solutions, and work effectively with a range of different stakeholders. You will be required to have robust analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, regular interaction with partners, and proficiency with CRM, marketing, and analytics tools to support global expansion and product management.

The Director of Strategy & Market Performance will have extensive experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, Looker, Braze, or equivalent. They should possess a thorough understanding of mobile measurement technology and attribution, along with a proven ability to leverage data to optimize marketing strategies and deliver measurable impact. Familiarity with measurement and optimization approaches for full-funnel, multi-channel campaigns is essential, including evaluating the effectiveness of both Brand Marketing and Performance Marketing and understanding their interconnection. Communication skills are required to translate complex data into actionable recommendations for creative and strategic partners.

The Director of Strategy & Market Performance should demonstrate success in operating within a new, evolving function that balances strategic vision with hands-on execution, as well as expertise in A/B testing, segmentation, and performance marketing analytics and attribution. This includes modeling post-back event flows, managing ad platform signal ingestion and return, and applying probabilistic versus deterministic attribution models with implications for reporting.

In the end, it’s the people of Game Content & Studios that make this place truly special. When you join, you’ll find yourself in the company of incredibly bright, warm, and creative individuals – all united and working toward a single goal. Come help us reach it!
