Overview

Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (E&E) is the team spearheading Microsoft’s marketing transformation, weaving a digital fabric that connects every customer to every seller at scale. Our bold vision is to turn marketing into a unified, always-on engine of growth by harnessing cutting-edge technology, AI-driven insights, and rich data. We are looking for a seasoned technical program manager to transform how we leverage customer and marketing data as well as standard governed taxonomies to execute targeted marketing tactics, sharpen AI models, improve signals to sales and increase insights derived from analytics. This includes ensuring we have all customer interactions with Microsoft’s marketing and sales tactics (web, social, events, email, phone calls, etc.) integrated with our Customer Data Platform and applying standard taxonomies such as product, channel, or geography to our data to leverage it more effectively. To achieve this, this role will be collaborating with key business stakeholders across sales and marketing, operations and engineering teams to define and implement business requirements, data requirements and standard taxonomies.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 4+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Microsoft’s marketing and sales programs, objectives, and related technology, data, and taxonomy needs.
  • Translate business needs into a technology, data, and taxonomy roadmap; define and prioritize requirements with stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to define requirements for leveraging customer interaction/activity data and creating new taxonomies.
  • Deeply understand integrated marketing plans, execution platforms, and data outputs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to define requirements for using customer data to enhance marketing and sales programs.
  • Collaborate with Customer Data Platform and Privacy teams to implement requirements aligned with standard taxonomies.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and finance teams to define taxonomies and use cases.
  • Manage taxonomy intake, governance, and communication processes aligned with evolving business strategy.
  • Drive implementation of new or updated taxonomies with teams across marketing technology, AI, and analytics.
  • Own project management activities: backlog tracking, communications, timelines, and dependency management.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level updates to Corporate Vice Presidents + (CVP+) on project status for operational excellence reviews.
