Overview
As a Director Sales Insights and Excellence, you will be responsible for understanding the state of our Cloud and AI Platform business, and partner with the field and go-to-market leads to drive insights, analysis, rigor on sales execution and support business strategies.
Whether your segment or scope is Customer or Partner focused, key to the role is the ability to drive actionable outcomes, guide and optimize the sales execution. You will cross-collaborate with other roles to forward-looking performance recommendations of your segment.
We are looking for an outcome-driven Sales Excellence lead to support the Azure portfolio in our Cloud and AI Platform business. You will support the Rhythm of Business (ROB) with sales performance analysis and business insights. You will work with Segment and Sales leaders to instill sales process discipline on pipeline health management, guide Sales Leaders on Microsoft sales methodologies, and collaborate across roles and segments to proactively seek resolution to manage change within your segment.
3 days per week in office

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years experience with active participation in sales, sales operations/management, account management, program management, business development, marketing, consulting, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience using data to drive business outcomes or inform business decisions
- 5+ years of experience managing relationships with stakeholders, clients, and/or customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, Information Security, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 12+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading projects, including strategic planning, timeline management, progress tracking, and/or driving change initiatives
- Experience working with go-to-market teams and leadership in cloud/AI platforms
Sales Excellence IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year. Responsibilities
Pipeline Health and Management
- Support execution of predictable revenue and consumption growth by segment and solution area.
- Ensure alignment with Microsoft’s sales methodology standards and operational excellence frameworks.
Sales Execution & Governance
- Drive consistent sales excellence discipline across segments.
- Guide governance practices and partner insights to improve sales performance and accountability.
Planning Engagement
- Collaborate with Segment Leads, Finance, and Business & Sales Operations (BSO/SOPM) on fiscal year planning.
- Provide sales excellence support for planning workstreams and performance forecasting.
Business Performance & Strategic Insights
- Serve as a subject matter expert for business performance across selected Azure services.
- Partner with GTM and Sales Leaders to translate business reports into strategic guidance.
- Deliver insights that inform decision-making and drive execution against business goals
