We are looking for a Lead Audio Engineer to join our team of audio enthusiasts striving for immersive, award-winning audio in our titles. We would like someone who has experience managing and leading audio engineers and designers with an interest in sound content, who can communicate sound ideas and translate them to audio systems and tools. With a focus on Console/PC games you will collaborate with a variety of creative minds to create cutting-edge gaming experiences.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience in game development or similar audio software using C++ AND 4+ years experience managing and leading audio engineers.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and Wwise or equivalent middleware.
  • Shipped at least one AAA video game as an Audio lead.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to problem solve independently in new and existing systems or technologies
  • Effective communication skills and comfortable working closely with engineers and artists
  • Experience developing tools, pipelines, and custom plugins
  • Experience with version control systems
  • Experience working on indie games or open-source projects
  • Interest or hobbies in music or sound design

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $142,400 - CAD $257,500 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Work to empower the audio team with tools and pipelines to materialize their creative vision.
  • Collaborate with various teams to gather requirements and develop audio features.
  • Work closely with core engine team to ensure runtime audio is performant.
  • Work with the audio engineering team to abstract, share and support our tools, pipelines and features with other studios across Xbox.
