Overview

Deal Managers are empowered to design and execute creative licensing solutions and commercial contracts for our customers. Deal Managers work in close partnership with Microsoft’s sales teams, business groups, and functional teams to develop strategies aimed at increasing revenue and profitability on Microsoft products and services such as Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365. Additionally, they strive to improve customer satisfaction by accelerating technology adoption to meet customers' needs. We are looking for self-motivated individual who are capable of building relationships, analyzing business deals, simplifying complex scenarios, and creating mutually beneficial agreements for both customers and Microsoft.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field AND 10+ years work experience in sales, negotiation, deal desk or related work.
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field or related field AND 6+ years work experience in sales, negotiation, deal desk or related work.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Business-level fluency in both English and Japanese languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep commercial experience in pricing and negotiating software contracts including terms and conditions, with in-depth knowledge of local & area marketplace, competition, and specific challenges of major industry sectors driving negotiation behavior.
  • Familiarity in articulating the importance of cloud transformation. Ideally can advocate for Microsoft’s three key cloud solutions—Azure, Modern Workplace, and Dynamics 365.
  • Demonstrated decision making, problem solving, financial acumen, analytical and negotiation skills in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to influence senior stakeholders positively and experienced in negotiating directly with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert knowledge of Microsoft volume licensing programs, negotiation strategies and best practices to increase volume license sales.
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify/resolve agreement issues and deal blockers.
  • Negotiate with customers on complex terms and conditions to close deals (optimize benefits to MSFT).
  • Make key decisions by applying business judgment and complex licensing/business principles.
  • Proactively identify and recommend solutions for improving the agreement development, empowerment guidance, negotiation and sales processes.
  • Act as a field-based feedback resource for providing Corporate with insights into product and program licensing development.
