Overview

With over 50 million developers, the Visual Studio family is the world’s most loved and used set of developer tools. Join our team, contribute to these products and empower Python developers on a global scale. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive key initiatives to integrate AI into the Python development experience and push the boundaries of developer productivity.

As an individual contributor in the Python team, you’ll collaborate with engineers, data scientists, design, advocacy, and other product teams to experiment and build the next generation of tools and services that will delight millions of Python developers, ensuring that every stakeholder understands the strategic direction and the ‘why’ behind each initiative. In this role, you will be part of a diverse, inclusive team that values growth mindset, innovation, and collaboration. We thrive on technical curiosity and creative problem-solving, and we’re excited to partner together to build industry-leading developer experiences.

Does this sound like you?

  • You’re passionate about empowering Python developers: maybe you maintain a side project on GitHub or help out on forums; either way, you care deeply about making the Python experience amazing for others.
  • You think big and small when it comes to product strategy: big, as in dreaming about where development could be in five years, and small, as in planning the concrete steps to get there.
  • You see AI as the ultimate sidekick for developers: you’re always experimenting with the latest AI-driven coding tools to see how they can make development faster and more fun.
  • You’re a developer advocate at heart: you try out your own features as if you were the user, and you always ask “Would I love this?” before anyone else does.
  • You love hearing from real users: be it on customer calls, in community chats, or through a good GitHub issue, and you use that feedback to build better products.
  • You’re a collaboration champion: working fluidly with design, engineering, advocacy (and anyone else needed) to turn ideas into reality without missing a beat.
  • You’re always leveling up: whether it’s grabbing the latest Python library to tinker with or digging into data from your last feature release, you’re eager to learn and improve.
  • You think half the fun of building something new is showing it off: you happily demo your work, speak at dev meetups, or craft tutorials to get others excited.

If you’re saying “Yes, that's me!” to many of the above, then you might be exactly who we need as our Python Product Manager! Come join us and help us shape the future of Python development - let's build the future of software development together. Take the next step and apply now!
