Overview

Join a high-performing Area team in the DACH region of partner solution engineers driving AI-powered transformation across Germany, Austria and Switzerland through Microsoft Partner companies. As an Azure Infrastructure & Application Development PSA you’ll design cutting-edge solutions, deliver compelling demos, and influence strategic decisions for top-tier partners to help them create new solutions and offerings for the market.

You’ll collaborate with sales, engineering, and partners to bring AI to life—across devices, cloud, and business apps—helping organizations unlock productivity and growth with the Microsoft technology stack based on products like Microsoft Azure (Compute, Networking, Storage), Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure AI Services.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Proven years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 7+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting OR equivalent experience.
  • Professional English proficiency and fluent in German
  • In line with our Flexible Work approach, for roles at Microsoft Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, we recommend spending at least two days per week in the office or at the customer site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep domain knowledge in Data Center Migration, Windows Server, and SQL Server Migration (including modernization to PaaS), VMware, Networking, Security, Storage, BCDR, Infra as Code, Hybrid and Arc, or hands-on experience working with the respective products at the expert level. Additionally deep knowledge/experience with Azure Migrate and RVTools.
  • Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of competitor cloud migration platforms, infrastructure and services including hybrid cloud technologies.
  • Experience creating cloud migration Proof of Concepts (PoC), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for customers that lead to production deployments.
  • 10+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
  • 10+ years experience working on technical projects.
  • Technical Certification (g. Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (Exam AZ-305) and other Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).

For Austria only: The salary for this role is starting from €102,900 euros per annum depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Business Impact

  • Collaborates across Microsoft and customer/partner teams through on-strategy delivery to achieve customer/partner objectives and increase customer/partner satisfaction. Proactively manages business and technical risks, adapts methodology and applies governance principles to identify, communicate, and minimize business and technical risks.
  • Proactively identifies new opportunities for Consumption and Usage at scale based on business value to partners and clear understanding of the Microsoft value proposition for supported platforms to empower cloud success, foster and strengthen security and resiliency, and drive AI innovation.
  • Actively listens to and respectfully challenges customers and partners, building trust to then advocate for alternative architectures/solutions/approaches that shape and/or enhance customer requirements. Identifies, and evaluates industry trends, gathers partner insights (e.g., feedback around technical preferences, environments, business needs, competitive landscape), and maps existing architecture and digital transformation solutions to partner business outcomes.

Partner Specialization

  • Identifies and prioritizes several opportunities that align with revenue goals and orchestrates growth of solution utilization pipeline with partners. Provides assistance with partner and sales teams to bring clarity to specific opportunities through proof of concept and technical pre-sales support.
  • Proactively guides and supports partners in developing repeatable offerings, practices, products, and solutions. Advises the partner throughout initial strategic customer implementations.

Technical Leadership

  • Enables and ensures teams leverage market insights and demand signals to influence and partner with senior/executive leadership in identifying relevant areas in which to drive up-skilling and/or accreditations based on demand. Champions role modelling technical readiness, both depth-aligned to solution area priorities and breadth-aligned corporate initiatives (e.g., security, resilience, AI), and influences across their organization to drive their own technical readiness. Oversees team on acting as a mentor, leading readiness and upskilling activities in the team/organization by educating colleagues on technical and non-technical concepts and sharing proven practices. Leads and drives a culture of learning and coaching in both the internal technical community and the broader organization alongside managers to achieve business objectives.
  • Develops their organization's community engagement strategy, leading internal virtual team members (brought together around technologies and partner challenges) and stakeholders by sharing ideas, insights, and strategic, technical input across boundaries, using deep knowledge of Microsoft architectures and their context in the competitive landscape, and actively pursuing opportunities that grow impact and capabilities of the broader organization. Assigns accountability for driving collaborative efforts for contributing to and/or developing intellectual property (IP) and proactively identifying patterns where no IP exists (e.g., CoPilot and AI scenarios) to help build scalable and repeatable models. Champions initiating and driving external technical and non-technical community events (e.g., conferences, seminars, technical meetups, webcasts, blogs, hackathons) that elevate the Microsoft brand, building a network of influencers and sharing learnings across the Discipline. Champions building an external influencer network, supporting Microsoft’s strategy and represents Microsoft's technology vision at events.
